     Background

Interleukins are a class of cytokines produced by and acting on multiple cell types. They play important roles in signal transduction, activation and regulation of immune cells, mediation of T and B cell activation, proliferation and differentiation, and inflammatory responses. IL-21 (interleukin-21) is secreted by activated CD4⁺ T cells, with a molecular structure similar to IL-15. It participates in regulating B cell proliferation and synergizes with IL-15 to promote bone marrow precursor cell proliferation and NK cell proliferation, differentiation, and cytotoxic activity. This product is expressed in CHO cells, featuring high purity, high activity, and freedom from animal-derived contamination.

    Directions for Use

This product is in lyophilized powder form. It is recommended to reconstitute with sterile water, PBS, or other suitable buffer to prepare a stock solution at 0.1–1.0 mg/mL.

After complete dissolution, further dilute to working concentration using culture medium according to experimental requirements. Aliquot for single-use storage and store at -20°C or below. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to maintain product activity and stability.

Optimal cytokine concentration may vary across different cell types and culture systems. Optimization and validation based on specific culture processes and experimental objectives are recommended to achieve the best culture results.

    Transport & Storage

    Ice pack transport.

Store at -20°C or below, protected from light, moisture-proof, and sealed. After reconstitution, aliquot and store at -20°C or below. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Minimize product exposure to room temperature during handling to ensure product activity and stability.

    Applications

Recombinant Human IL-21 is an important member of the γc family of cytokines, regulating immune cell proliferation, differentiation, and functional activation through IL-21R-mediated JAK/STAT signaling pathways.

    Widely used in:

    • NK cell expansion and functional enhancement

    • T cell culture and activation

    • CAR-T cell manufacturing process development

    • CAR-NK cell culture

    • Tumor immunology research

    • Immune cell therapy process development

    • Cytokine functional research

    • Biopharmaceutical R&D

IL-21 is often used in combination with cytokines such as IL-2, IL-7, and IL-15 to promote NK cell and CD8⁺ T cell expansion and to help maintain cytotoxic activity and memory phenotype.
